School Bus Transportation

School boards generally provide a free school bus transportation service to students who need it. This service is instituted according to various factors, in particular:
  • The distance to be walked
  • The student’s age
  • The student’s health status
Regular school bus transportation service takes care of kindergarten, elementary school, and secondary school-aged children’s transportation to the school and back. A transportation service may also be provided at noon in some school boards (some fees may apply).
No transportation service is organized for a student whose parents choose a school other than the one in their sector, unless the child is registered to a particular program (Sports, Arts, and Studies; International Studies Program or Riverside), or—in some cases—a private school.

For more information on school bus transportation and your child’s admissibility, please contact the people in charge at the school board in your sector or the school that your child frequents.
