Respite at the MFRC to "Take Some Time for Yourself"

Are you a military spouse and do you need a little help to babysit your kids so you can finally grant yourself some "me time"?

Please be aware that the MFRC offers free periods of respite, within the framework of their "Give It a Rest Program", to families who are experiencing deployment, temporary duty (military loved one at an exercise abroad or a course) or even military families who have to face more difficult moments in their daily lives.

Please also be aware that military families on their house-hunting trip (HHT) can use the program to get free childcare periods during their HHT.

Our periods of respite have thus been established to give you a moment to relax and rejuvenate to decrease the stress and fatigue that military lifestyle may cause.

The service is offered:
  • Two times per week on Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. to noon for preschool-aged children.

  • Every other Saturday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. for preschool- and school-aged children.

Please note, however, that the offer is flexible and it may be adapted according to demand and families’ needs.

Reservations are mandatory.

To get your coupons that give you a right to respite periods, please contact the coordinator of the Bagotville MFRC’s Child, Youth & Family Sector by dialing 418 677-7468.
