Week 1: Stress & Anxiety

This week we have two overarching themes to help manage Stress and Anxiety. 

Music & Mindfulness

Local music therapist, veteran and all around wonderful member of our military community, Fleur Hughes, will lead this free, family-friendly workshop aimed at reducing stress and calming anxiety on Friday, July 10th, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.

The workshop will include:
  • Using music to regulate emotions and relax
  • Creating a playlist for any mood
  • Tips on making DIY instruments (a great activity with kids!)
  • A guided music and mindfulness meditation.
All you need to participate is a quiet space, an internet connection and a pair of headphones. Join as an individual or a whole family. Ages 6-Adult. Strict limit of 20 participants. Register today!

Keeping with the music theme, we have a Family Edition of Virtual Name That Tune on July 10th at 6:00 p.m. hosted by Musical Twist DJ. The winner of the contest gets a $50 virtual gift card of their choosing. You can find more information and register for the Zoom link to participate here

HeartMath Inner Balance

The first 30 people who register for the Inner Balance program will receive a free HeartMath Inner Balance sensor to use with a three-hour military-focused online HearthMath course that you can take at your own pace. We will mail the sensor to you, provide the link to the course, and check in with you at the end of July and August for your feedback on how the system has helped. Registration will be open until Friday, July 10th
