50/50 Edmonton Oilers Raffle Fundraiser:

Edmonton Oilers V. Colorado Avalanche 50/50 Raffle More Volunteers are Needed!
The 4 Wing Military Family Resource Centre Society was selected for an incredible fund raising opportunity to participate in this year’s Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation 50/50 program on Thursday 1 February 2018. This fundraiser for the MFRCS is a great opportunity to be part of this exciting game and see how things operate behind the scene as well as seeing the new Oilers arena “Rogers Centre”.
To make this Fundraiser successful we need a minimum of 57 volunteers (Military Members / Defence Team and Spouses/Partners, must be 18 years of age or older) to work the 50/50 raffle at the new Rogers Centre.  Volunteers will be selling tickets, assist in the counting room, and work as Dockers and Printer Assistants.
All proceeds from the 50/50 Oilers program will be used to invest in our Youth programs for Military Families. In 2016 we raised $27,038.75 with Cpl Robert Lamoureaux from 417 Sqn as the top 50/50 ticket seller. Our goal is to beat this amount.  Anyone up for the challenge?
Volunteer sign up starts on 28 September with a deadline of 15 January, 2018. Transportation is provided however you do have the option to take your PMV. Seats book up fast so don’t wait too long.

Additional Details:
Transportation: Coach Bus or PMV
Date: Thursday 1 February 2018
Departure: MFRC Parking Lot 1230hrs. Bus is loading at 12:00pm. Game time is 1930hrs. We must be at Rogers Centre for 1700hrs. Seats are on a first come first serve basis.
Return: Same night at approx. 0130hrs
Dress: Civilians are encouraged to wear Oilers-friendly clothing (Oilers apparel such as hats, shirts, sweaters, jersey) CADPAT for military members.
Age: Must be 18 yrs or older
Food: A box lunch prepared by a caterer on the way to Rogers Centre and Pizza on the way home is provided to all volunteers travelling with us on the bus.

Family Day Event ``Snow Fever``:

Looking for “Snow Fever” (Family Day) event Volunteers.
This year the Family Day event “Snow Fever” is taking place on Monday 19 Feb 2018.  The events between 17 – 19 Feb are in partnership between the City of Cold Lake, 4 Wing and the MD of Bonnyville. The following is an overview of the schedule of events taking place at 4 Wing on 18 & 19 Feb 2018 and we need the help of volunteers to make this successful and fun for all the families in Cold Lake:

Sun 18 Feb 2018:
1700-2330 hrs @ MFRC: Youth Video Dance for ages 10 -13 & 14 - 17; Volunteers needed to assist with setup and decorate, canteen, welcome and sign in table, monitors/supervisors.
1400-1600 hrs @ J.J. Parr Rec Centre: Volunteers are needed to assist with the setup of 4 inflatables, decorate, setup of boot/coat room etc.

Monday 19 Feb 2018:
0800-1300 hrs @ J.J. Parr Rec Centre: Volunteers are needed to assist with monitoring/supervising Inflatables, fish pond, coat & boot room, parking, shuttle bus service, and teardown etc
1100-1700hrs @ the Cold Lake Golf and Winter Club (on base): Volunteers are need to assist with sign-out booths for Snow Shoeing and Cross Country Skiing, Wagon Rides, Cookie decorating, Outdoor skating, burn barrels, parking and crowd control, etc
1100-1530 @ the MFRC: Youth event “Star Wars” ages: 10 – 17. Volunteers are needed to man game stations, setup and teardown.
