Logo Design Contest

The Comox MFRC strives to be an inclusive space for ALL families. Our logo does not reflect the modern military family and we want to see what the MFRC means to you by having you design our logo.
We would like to have a design that is easily identifiable and will be inclusive of ALL our clients (Single members, service couples, couples with kids, couples without kids, single parents, LGBTQ2S+ community, veterans etc.) Designs will be used for inspirational purposes for our final Logo.  
 
Contest Period

The Contest runs from November 2, 2020 at 12:00am until December 14, 2020 at 11:59pm PST.

How to Enter
  1. No purchase or entry fee is required.
  2. During the Contest Period, entrants must submit a design by email to submissions@comoxmfrc.ca
  3. Entries must be received no later than December 14, 2020 at 11:59pm PST; no late entries will be accepted.
  4. Digital format is preferred; however, hand drawn submissions will be accepted.
  5. Submissions must include Full Name, Email, Address, Phone Number, Military affiliation-if any, and short explanation of design. These can be done in both English and French.
Personal Eligibility
  1. Open to all persons aged 18+
  2. Comox MFRC staff, Board of Directors and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
Design Criteria
  1. The letters ‘MFRC’ or words ‘Military Family Resource Centre’ must be part of the logo.
  2. Design must be inclusive of all military families as stated above.
  3. Notes to consider:
    1. Comox MFRC is a military support service
    2. Our Vision: Military families will thrive
    3. Our Mission: To Support the unique lifestyle of the modern military family
    4. Geographical area – West coast
  
Determining the Winner
  1. All submissions will be reviewed by a committee of MFRC employees to narrow down to three finalists.
  2. All submissions will be brought to all MFRC Staff for a Staff pick finalist.
  3. All submissions will be brought to Deputy Wing Command (D/WComd) 19 Wing for a finalist pick.
  4. Up to five finalists (three from committee, one from MFRC staff and one from one D/WComd) will be brought to the Board of Directors for a final winning vote on January 27, 2020)
  5. The committee and board of directors will grade each submission on the following categories:
    1. Follows Design Criteria
    2. Inclusivity
    3. Design Adaptability
    4. Recognition/Readability
    5. Branding – who we are
    6. Visual Aesthetics
Intellectual Property
  1. Designs must be original work of the entrant and must not violate the intellectual property rights of any other person, organization or entity.
  2. The winning submission becomes sole property of the Comox MFRC to be used in entirety or altered for use on all marketing materials/publications.
Awarding Prize 
  1. Winner will be announced on January 28, 2021 on social media.
  2. The Comox MFRC will contact the winner by email to arrange delivery of prize.
  3. In order to win, the winning entrant will be required to sign a Prize Claim Form and Acceptance Agreement confirming compliance with the Design Contest rules, acceptance of the Prize as awarded.
Odds 
  1. Participants’ odds of winning will depend on the total number of entrants received.
