As a part of any re-opening our facility during the current pandemic there are several changes to our facility layout and our admission practices. Please take a moment to review the details below before scheduling your next visit to the Edmonton Garrison Fitness Centre.

What are the Facility Hours? Our facility hours will fluctuate in the weeks following our re-opening. These changes will be driven by patron volume and our resources available. Please visit the Edmonton Garrison Fitness Centre's main webpage on a regular basis to get updates regarding facility hours.
How do I Access the Facility? In order to comply with the provincial re-opening guidelines, occupancy limits have been imposed on the various areas within the Edmonton Garrison Fitness Centre. In order to facilitate these occupancy limits, the Edmonton Garrison Fitness Centre has adopted a reservation system. Note that reservations are for a maximum of 50 mins and tied to a specifc location in the facility. Reservations for our pool are limited to 45mins. What Equipment is Available? Several areas of the Edmonton Garrison Fitness Centre remain closed and will open at a later date. Those areas that are open will have substantial changes in layout. These changes are done to accomodate physical distancing and the provincial government's re-opening guidelines. Please follow the "Facilities Available" link below to get up to date information on what areas are available for use and what equipment is in each area.
How should I Prepare for my visit to the Edmonton Garrison Fitness Centre? If you have already made a reservation, then you are off to a good start. Please note that our changerooms are closed in accordance with provincial guidelines. We ask that all patrons intending to use the gym come already dressed for their individual exercise plans. All our water fountains will be inoperable. Please bring your own water. If you intend to use the weight room, please bring a mask. Masks are mandatory in the weight room and they will not be provided. All other areas of the facility do not require a mask but a mask is recommended. Please bring your own personal equipment wherever practical. This includes equipment like yoga mats and blocks as well as weight belts. Patrons should bring their Military ID card or Membership Card. Patrons without proper identification will be required to pay a drop in fee.
What Can I Expect Upon Arrival? Starting Oct 21 patrons with reservations and attending programs will enter the building from the parking lot using the middle exterior doors to the right of the main entrance. All patrons wishing to use the Edmonton Garrison Fitness Centre will join their designated line and wait till the turn of the hour to enter the facility. Prior to the turn of the hour, a staff member will confirm reservations and take any in-person reservations. A further staff member will provide a short brief on our new facility rules prior to patrons entering the facility. Reservations are specific to a person and particular location in the facility and in-order to comply with occupancy limits no patrons without reservations will be permitted to enter the facility.
All patrons wishing to make a Front Desk inquiry will enter the facility from the main doors along with other designated patrons such as:
- General Rec Inquiries
- Comm Rec Swim Lessons and Programming
- F&S personal trg clients and Specialty (non-FORCE) testing applicants
- Individual Reconditioning patients
- Individuals with accessibility limitations
There will be signage clearly indicating the lines for facility users. Each line will have physical distancing aids marked on the ground. Please follow the instructions on the signs and the aids on the ground. Our main entrance has been clearly divided into an exit and entrance. If you are waiting to enter the facility, please do not block the exit.
Patrons should bring their Military ID card or Membership Card. Patrons without proper identification will be required to pay a drop in fee.
What are the Expectations while I am in the Facility? Physical distancing is expected of all patrons. Regardless of "family", "cohort", or "bubble" all patrons are expected to maintain a physical distance of 2 metres. Signage has been place around the facility to remind patrons of the importance of physical distancing. Directional markings have been placed on the floor to facilitate flow and physical distancing. Our staff will be supervising the various areas of our facility and reminding patrons of the importance of physical distancing. Patrons failing to respect physical distancing guidelines will be asked to leave the facility.
Where possible we have left interior doors open. Please do not close them. Please do not use any area or piece of equipment marked as closed. All patrons are required to wipe down all equipment and machines before and after use with the disinfectant supplies provided. Masks are recommended in all areas of the facility, but are mandatory in the weight room only. Changerooms are available for washroom use only. Please do not use the lockers and leave all unnecessary personal belongings in your vehicle or at home.
At all times, patrons are expected to follow the instructions of Fitness Centre staff. All staff will be properly uniformed and easily identifiable.
What Kind of Cleaning Protocols Does the Fitnes Centre Have in Place? All patrons are required to wipe down all equipment and machines before and after use with the disinfectant supplies provided. Each area within the facility (weight room, warrior room, upper gym, etc...) will be closed once every four hours throughout the day to be cleaned by facility staff. Closures will be staggered. Our cleaning staff will continue to clean common areas on a regular basis. All facility equipment will be disinfected by staff mulitple times per day.

OVERVIEW OF AQUATICS COVID RESPONSE PLAN
Swimming classes have modifications to fit AHS COVID-19 guidelines. There are important things to know about modifications to swimming such as the unavailability of change-room lockers. Please arrive to our facility already in your swim gear.
Lane Swim: Our lanes are now double wide to accommodate a maximum of 8 swimmers in a directional swim. Participants must be able to swim 25 yards on their front without stopping before entering water above shoulder depth.
Maximum spots for this activity is up to 8 people
Lane walking is not permitted.
Flutterboards will be available.
Bring your own additional equipment.
No snorkels allowed.
