Spring/Summer Volunteer Opportunities 2019
 
Are you looking for unique ways to contribute to the military community over the spring and summer? The Edmonton Garrison Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) may have the perfect opportunity for you.
 
We are currently seeking friendly, enthusiastic and cooperative individuals to join our volunteer team in order to help us host our events over the course of the spring. Here is a listing of events:
 
The MFRC Youth Centre
“Do you have an abundance of Energy?” Looking to put this Energy to good use?”
The MFRC is looking for adult volunteers who are looking to make a difference in the lives of the youth at the MFRC Youth Centre.
Dates: June 14, 2019
Location: MFRC Youth Centre
Volunteers Opportunity: volunteers needed to interact with youth during the youth dances. Roles may include: Canteen, Bag Check, Hallway/Door Monitor and Dance Monitor and clean up.
Hours: 6:30 – 10:15 pm
Volunteers must be 18 years and over.
 
Mobile Blood Donor Clinic
“Help those who have the power to give.”  Volunteers are needed in the post-donation care area of the blood clinic.
Dates:  Thursdays, May 30, 2019
Time:  1:00 - 5:00 pm
Location: MFRC
Volunteers must be 18 years and over.
 
Loops for Troops
Date:  Sunday, June 2, 2019
Time:  7:00 am – 1:00 pm
Location:  Lecture Training Facility, Edmonton Garrison
Lead Rider (Bike): (5km, 10km, ½ marathon and Military Mile)
Water Points: To hand out water runners as they pass through the water point and cheer them on as they come through details of water points
Route Marshalls: To direct runners to the appropriate course based on what run they are completing as well as cheer them on as they come through.
Traffic Control: To direct traffic (should it be required) when runners are coming through as well as directing runners to the appropriate course based on what run they are completing.
Food Clean-up: To ensure food supplies as well as tables, etc. is clean for individuals to use.
Cooks & Serving: To cook and serve pancakes & sausages for the runners, volunteer, and staff.

Saint-Jean-Baptiste & Multiculturalism Celebration Day
Date:  June 23, 2019
Time:  4:00 – 7:00 pm
Location:  MFRC
Volunteers need for games supervision, popcorn machine and craft table supervision. Francophone volunteers are encouraged.
 
Canada Day
Show off your patriotic side and celebrate our nation’s birthday with our troops!
Date:  July 1, 2019
Time:  10:30 am – 4:30 pm
Location:  Sir Winston Churchill Park
Lunch will be provided to the volunteers
Volunteer are needed for Set up/ Tear down, Garbage Patrol, and Games Supervision.
