The story and history of Loops for the Troops...
The inaugural Loops for the Troops Calgary took place in Calgary in 2008, in memory of Cpl Nathan Hornburg, who was killed while on active duty in Afghanistan, Sept. 24, 2007.
The race was such a success that it wasn't long before word spread about this special event and Edmonton adopted its own chapter of Loops for the Troops Edmonton.
Through a unique partnership between the family of a local fallen soldier, Cpl Bryce Keller M.M.V, CFB Edmonton and the MFRC, Loops for the Troops Edmonton was born, Sunday, June 7, 2009.
Loops for the Troops Edmonton is held annually on Canadian Armed Forces Day and is dedicated to our Canadian Armed Forces, veterans, first-response services, their families and especially to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country, both at home and abroad.
With more participants each year, Loops for the Troops Edmonton has become a cherished community event.
Thank you for your continued support!
