Bus Tour of Victoria

Experience your new city from the comfort of a luxury double decker bus! This scenic bus tour includes the downtown core, the Legislative Buildings, Canada’s oldest Chinatown, Beacon Hill Park, the Victoria waterfront, and many other camera-worthy sights. The tour includes live narration from your knowledgeable driver, and MFRC staff and volunteers will be on hand to welcome you aboard and answer any questions you might have. English as a Second Language 

Do you want to learn English or improve your English? Do you feel the need to improve your English to better communicate with your partner? The MFRC offers courses to CAF adult family members. The classes, taught by a professional, incorporate conversation, culture, grammar and writing to facilitate your integration into your community. French as a Second Language 

Are you posted to a bilingual base or Francophone community? Do you feel the need to develop your second language to better communicate with your partner?
The MFRC offers the opportunity to access online Rosetta Stone language training to CAF adult family members. Rosetta Stone uses a method that combines listening, reading, speaking and writing.

Employment Workshop: Starting the Next Chapter

Join Mark Johnson & Nicole Eyre from WorkLink’s FrameWork Job Search Program and discover how to market your unique talents and skills in Greater Victoria.  They will address networking, transferable skills and community resources in a fun, positive and interactive manner. Learn how to take that first step in the next chapter of your career. This workshop is open to both military family members and releasing members searching for civilian jobs. Military Lifestyle 101

Meet other new military community members and learn more about the military lifestyle. A facilitator will be your tour guide through this unique culture, answering any questions you may have around deployment, relocation and communication. You will hear from a panel of experienced military partners who will share their stories. Walk away with confidence in your new military environment, knowing that others are walking the same path and that there are supports available along the way.
