OpMD

Are You Looking for a Family Doctor?

OpMD is a program offered by the Gagetown Military Resource Centre that connects Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) families currently posted in Gagetown area with a family doctor.

Who is eligible?
All serving CAF members’ dependants and spouses are welcome to access this program.

How does the program work?
Like the provincial “Patient Connect” registry the list will work on a first come first served basis. As providers that have capacity in their practice will contact the GMFRC to advise that they are able to take patients, the GMFRC will then select the appropriate number of patients from the registry and send their information to the doctor or nurse practitioner. Patients will be advised via email or phone they are being assigned to a provider and will be provided the office contact information. Patients will then be responsible for contacting the office to make an appointment to set up their file.

How long will I wait?
It is important to note that it is difficult to tell exactly how long patients will have to wait since there are many things that impact the regions patient capacity; area, recruiting by the regional health authorities, etc. Our goal is always to match families with the least amount of delays.
