With our Adult Programs, offered to anyone over the age of 18, we strive to promote and encourage social and community involvement through a variety of programs. We create an environment where members, their family members, as well as other members of our community at large, can connect with each other, form friendships and feel connected to where they live.
A common misconception is that the programs we offer are only open to military families. We absolutely welcome civilian members in our community to register and enjoy the majority of our programs. Participation of both military and civilian families in our events and programs helps to form connections, which quickly integrate our military families into their community and helps them to establish stronger support systems.
Another misconception is that as a “family resource centre” we only cater to members and nuclear families with children. In addition to families, several participants in our programs are single members, couples without children as well as community members with grown families. A wide variety of programs and activities are planned every month in an attempt to appeal to all kinds of interest for both men and women.
New ideas for programs not currently offered in our area are always welcome as we are constantly seeking new and exciting topics to add to our calendar.
Programming is only half of what the Adult Programs offers to adults in the community. We work with facilitators who see an interest and need in the community and want to host programs and workshops and we offer space and support so they can share their skills and talents.
