Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. or Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. starting in February, 2021 via Zoom. Register by Friday, January 15.

Interested in starting a business? Have a business but missing a plan? Curious about entrepreneurship? Start your business off right by learning where to find start-up funds, how to create a business plan, and how to connect with customers. Get real info for real people! Join us and our partners from The Conscious Group for this 6 week program starting in February.
 
Please note that seating for these sessions is limited and will be assigned based on the following criteria:
 
Priority 1 – military/veteran/RCMP spouses and active members of the Greenwood Military Family Business Group.
 
Priority 2 – military members, veterans, RCMP members, and other defence team members and their families.
 
Priority 3 – participants who do not fit into the above categories.

Your request will be reviewed by the program coordinator and you will be contacted via email no later than the week of January 18th, 2021 to let you know if your registration is approved. Registered participants will be sent a notebook for taking notes and jotting down ideas prior to the start of the first session.

Program Outline:
 
Module 1:  Getting Started – Where do I Even Begin?
Topics include:  Business name search and name registration, business and work vehicle insurance, workplace safety, ergonomics and your home office, securing social media handles and URLs, and introduction to business plans.
 
Module 2:  Money, Money, Money
Topics include: Funding your business with a focus on funding available for women entrepreneurs, funding sources (where to find, what they are), how to complete funding applications, financial projections and funding needs, and start-up resources.
 
Module 3:  Resources that Support Entrepreneurs
Topics include:  support resources available to entrepreneurs with additional focus on resources for women, professional development opportunities and access to professionals (lawyers, accountants, etc.), networking etiquette, developing your elevator pitch, and how to find the right networking opportunity for your business.
 
Module 4:  Business Finances – More Than Accounting!
Topics include:  keeping personal and business finances separate and how to plan your spending, planning for growth, understanding cash flow, reading financial statements, and online tools to help you stay organized.
 
Module 5:  Marketing & Selling – What’s the difference?
Topics Include:  the difference between marketing and selling, advertising opportunities, advertising budgets, and how to identify and connect with your customers. 
 
Module 6:  Wrap-up and Q& A
Topics include:  Overview of key topics, outstanding questions, business plan reviews, and additional topics and Q&A.
