Be a part of the 2nd ANNUAL NAVY BIKE RIDE HALIFAX SHADOW RIDE, set for Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 0900 hrs.
This fun family event is open to cyclists of all skill levels, including beginners, with 6km, 15km and 30km distances to choose from. This is a non-competitive ride that will start in the parking lot of the Shearwater Fitness & Sports Center, taking cyclists along the beautiful Shearwater Flyer Trail (6km and 15km routes), and for the more adventurous riders, the scenic views of the Salt Marsh Trail (roughly 30km route).

There will also be displays, draw prizes, giveaways, healthy snacks and refreshments.
Riders must register to participate in the Navy Bike Ride Halifax Shadow Ride but registration is FREE.
To register visit: http://navybikeride.ca/shadow_ride/hmcs-scotian/#content and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Select the No Jersey / No Charity button and complete the registration form.
Cycling jerseys and buffs can be purchased in support of the Royal Canadian Naval Benevolent Fund and Support Our Troops Fund. Once registered simply revisit the page and select the items and quantity you would like to purchase under Jersey (extra) or Buff (extra). Once you make your selection proceed through the ordering and payment process and your jersey/buff will be shipped to your Shadow Ride location. Orders received within 2 weeks of the event are not guaranteed to arrive in time for the event but arrangements for pick-up can be made at a later date.
Participants must check-in between 0730 and 0845 at the Shearwater Fitness & Sports Center to pick up their distance identifier and to be entered into our prize draws.
There will be a manditory safety briefing at the start/finish line for all participants at 0845.
Participants are responsible for providing their own bicycle and helmet. Helmets must be worn at all times. The Shearwater Flyer and Salt Mash Trails are off-road trails made up of crusher dust and gravel. A mountain bike is the recommend bike for the event. Riders must be prepared to maintain their own bicycles on the course. PSP is not responsible for maintenance of participant’s bicycles and will not have tire repair kits, chains, pumps or other tools available for bicycle maintenance. The Shearwater and Salt Marsh Trails are public trails that will remain open to the public during the event. The trails also cross major roadways. The Navy Bike Ride Halifax Shadow Ride is not a timed event. Participants must slow down and stop to yield to traffic on roadways. Please be respectful of other riders and if there are accidents on the trail, stop to help.
