Our counsellors provide support for children, parents and spouses of a member who is ill, injured or fallen.
Transition Centre Support
Our counsellors work closely with the Transition Centre to ensure the widest variety of support is offered to families who are coping with an illness, injury or death of a CAF loved one. We also support families of CAF members who are medically releasing from the military.
Counsellors are available to help families cope with all phases of the member’s recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration. We support the family by responding to their needs, advocating on their behalf and providing referrals to relevant programs and services. We can provide group and individual counselling sessions to support families as well as assist families in navigating and accessing resources and services. We also support the development of educational and awareness sessions, briefings and resources pertaining to bereavement, transition, change management, and the impact of injuries.
