My Choice Summer Camp Grant
After the success of last year’s ‘My Choice’ Summer Camp Grant we would like to again give military children the opportunity to “make their own choice” and be who they want to be this summer by discovering, adventuring and making lasting memories at a camp of their choice.
For 2018, there will be two application categories Elementary and High School. Both will have a mandatory two round application process. Round One: Registration of Interest from the parent and Round Two: An informal verbal or written application from the child.
This year, applications are open to all military children who live in Mainland BC.
Mainland BC MFRC will reimburse camp registration fees up to $200 per child. Children may attend either a day or residential camp.
The “My Choice” grant is open to all children of CAF members (Regular and Reserve Force) who reside in Mainland BC. More than one child may apply from each family.
Applications are also invited from the Children of Veterans who have medically released after April 1st, 2018.
Elementary - Aged 5 – 12 years
High School - Aged 13 – 18 years
Grants are for camp fees only.
CAF member must be the parent or legal guardian of the child.
Any registered camp of your child’s choice.

Complete separate applications if there is more than one child in your family applying.
Registration of interest closes May 31st, 2018. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Families will be contacted and the children will either be asked to complete a hand written questionnaire or to take part in a telephone conversation explaining why they would like to go to summer camp.
All successful applicants will be informed by email on or before July 2nd, 2018.
POST CAMP GRANT AGREEMENT
By accepting the ‘My Choice’ Summer Camp grant, a representative from your family and your child agree to take part in a local Post Camp Share & Celebrate Event.
Post Camp - Attend a FREE local ‘Share and Celebrate’ family event (venues, and times to be confirmed) in September or October (area dependant) to meet us and other military families to share and celebrate your summer camp experience.
RECEIVING THE GRANT
All successful applicants must provide proof of enrollment (Documentation Showing: Child’s Name, Camp Name, Date(s) of Attendance) and a copy of a paid receipt to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than August 31st, 2018 for funds to be released and cheques to be presented at the Share & Celebrate events.
You will receive a reimbursement cheque in approximately 4-6 weeks from the date of receipt.
