RESOURCES FOR CAREGIVERS

If you are seeking child care, information about child care, or assistance with applying for government subsidy for child care:

Child Care Resource and Referral Program (CCRR)

Nannies on Call : Nannies on Call can provide long-term placements or on call babysitting services and will invoice family for the fees.Serve the Lower Mainland. Phone: 604-734-1776  (In case of emergency or respite child care) 

We Care Home Health Services : We Care Home Health Services provide assistance and home support for families across BC – everything from an occasional nursing care visit, emergency childcare, or live-in care. Contact 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Phone: 1-877-853-1195.

Kids and Company offers flexible daycare services at excellent prices for ages 0-12. DND has a corporate rate however, parents must pay for their children’s care in advance of actually using it. Although the fee is $350 for 15 different days of care over one year, the rate of $24 per child/per day is an excellent fee.

Babycenter Canada provides a wide range of information and resources for expecting parents and parents of babies.

 

RESOURCES FOR PARENTS

  • The BC Council of Families, which offers a wide range of resources aimed at strengthening and supporting families.
  • B.C. Association of Family Resource Programs
  • Provides a directory of programs for ages 0-6 years. This includes childcare, well-baby clinics, parent/child drop in, child development activities, and counselling services. 

CHILD CARE SUBSIDY

According to the BC Government, if you are a resident of BC, and you are trying to get your children into child care, then there is an opportunity to apply for child care subsidy. This subsidy is not through MBC MFRC but through the BC Government.
