About Us

About Us

The Mainland BC Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is a Not-For-Profit charitable organization that provides programs and services to the Canadian Armed Forces Members and their Families.

Why are we the Mainland BC Military Family Resource Centre and not Vancouver Military Family Resource Centre? This is because we serve all of British Columbia except Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii (those are cared for by Esquimalt or Comox MFRCs); hence, our name Mainland BC MFRC.

Our MISSION

To enhance and support eligible family members of  Mainland BC MFRC through the provision of resources and services that address the unique needs.

Our VISION

We envision confident, capable, and resilient families of the Canadian Armed Forces and Veterans, well integrated into all their various communities.

How is it run?

Each Military Family Resource Centre is incorporated as a not-for-profit agency in the province in which it is located. It is governed by a community elected Board of Directors of which at least 51% must be spouses/partners of regular force CAF members. Since 1991, Military Family Resource Centres have become an integral part of the CAF lifestyle.
