CFRC Enrollment Ceremonies Volunteer
The Mainland BC MFRC is looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic volunteer who would enjoy presenting and interacting with new Military Recruits and their families.

The Volunteer’s duties:
• Present a short PowerPoint presentation outlining support and services to military families.
• Distribute new family info packages and collect family information forms.
• Mondays from 10:30am-11:45am (times may vary).
• Liaise with the Deployment Coordinator for schedules, materials, and feedback.

Qualifications:
• 18+
• Comfortable speaking in front of a small group
• Capable of independent or self-directed work
• Military or civilian welcomed
• Criminal Record Check will be required

Volunteer’s transportation to the Canadian Forces Recruiting Center in New Westminster
would be covered by the MFRC, and the candidate will receive training on their duties
with the possibility of future skill development. Future growth opportunities may be
available with new recruit families.

Community Engagement
Are you a confident communicator, and an adept resource investigator who enjoys
linking communities in innovative ways?

The Mainland BC Military Family Resource Centre is looking for outgoing and
enthusiastic volunteers who would enjoy interacting with Military Families within their
local communities throughout Mainland BC.

Duties
• Approximately 2 – 4 hours per week
• With the support from the Community Engagement Coordinator identify innovative ways
to engage with military families
• Publicise information about events, workshops and seasonal messages and reminders
• Identify and report on local resources, discounts and community interests
• Assist with the planning and delivery of local events

Qualifications
• 18+
• Military connection that would enable you to connect with military families in your area
• Capable of independent self-directed work
• Comfortable speaking in public on behalf of the Mainland BC MFRC
• Ability to engage with small identified groups
• Basic knowledge of event planning and delivery (desired but not essential)
• Class 5 drivers (desired but not essential)
• Mileage and program expenses covered
• Criminal Record Check will be required
• Familiarity with computer programs and communication technology (Excel, Skype, Word)
• Ability to research and engage with service organisations.
• Conduct research on businesses and organisations within your local area using multiple
  steams to find information that identifies services that support our military families needs.
• Accurately record collated data to the required format and submit along with any
  associated literature

Event Help Needed
The Mainland BC Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is looking for fun, friendly, energetic volunteers to help with a variety of seasonal Military Family Appreciation events.
Event venues and times vary according to the season, we try to regularly schedule and attend Military Families Appreciation WHL Hockey Games in the fall and winter and welcome guests and promote the services of the BCMFRC at Fun Family Appreciation Days during the spring and summer months.

Duties
• Support MFRC staff with the set up and take down of events
• Welcome and respectfully engage with organisations, public and military families
• Advocate the services of the MFRC
• Sell raffle tickets (over 18+ only due to gaming laws)
• Encourage public to purchase ‘Support Our Troops’ merchandise

Qualifications
• 15+ (over 18+ for cash handling roles)
• Reliable, enthusiastic, flexible team Player
• Complete event associated tasks from start to finish
• Military or civilian welcome
• Some volunteer roles must have the ability to lift 20+ pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Criminal Records Check will be required (over 18+)
• Letter of Recommendation will be required (under 18)
• Knowledge of basic First Aid (desired but not essential)
Commitment, Training & Expenses
• Casual commitment, as and when required
• 2 to 8 hours depending on event type
• Candidates will receive full training and support for each assigned event
• Reasonable out of pocket expenses would be covered
