The vision of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Health and Physical Fitness Strategy is to “provide the ways and means for every CAF member to attain and maintain their personal health and physical fitness sufficient to meet CAF operational requirements.” You can find out more about the strategy on the Defence Internal Network.

SAINT-JEAN
The Saint-Jean Sports Centre offers a wide variety of fitness courses and activities. The activities listed below are intended exclusively for CAF members and DND members.

Lunchtime activities
  • Yoga

  • Tactical Athlete Training Program
Fitness evaluations
  • FORCE test : Due to the specific situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic (red and orange zones), please contact the FORCE coordinator within your unit for more details.
  • Joint Task Force 2
  • Canadian Special Operations Regiment
  • Parachuting
  • CAF Basic Military Swim Standard
  • Search and rescue (SAR TECH)
COVID-19: Priority of physical test (FORCE, BMSST et Speciality Trade)
1. On going domestic and international operation (deplyment)
2. Recruiting (to include component-transfer and sub-component transfer for employment purposes)
3. Individual basic training (such as for BMQ, BMOQ, DP, BTL)
4. Environmental basic training
5. Mission-essential individual and collective training.
6. Other situation approved by the PSP Director Fitness, Sport, Health promotion and Soldier On.

Fitness programs and sports activities

An instructor of the Fitness and Sports Department from Personnel Support Programs is assigned to units to help design and develop fitness programs and sports activi-ties. Instructors can also help CAF members design per-sonalized programs.
