About the Community Recreation Department

The mission of the Community Recreation Department is to help the military community to maintain good health, by offering activities that help reduce mental fatigue, tensions and frustrations that can sometimes cause daily work.

Saint-Jean and Montreal Garrison

Please note, given that the Saint-Jean garrison is in the red zone, that the sports center including access to the gymnasium and training rooms will be closed.

Outdoor Stores

Exceptionally and only for active military personnel and DND employees.

According with the public health parameters,your outdoor stores in Saint-Jean and Montreal will be open:

  • Starting Feb 8, 2021;
  • Only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday;
  • Between 8:00 am and 4 pm;
  • By email appointment Only;
  • Minimum of 14 day rentals;
  • For military and DND employees;

The Recreation Department plays an important role in developing and maintaining new activities and interests to stimulate personal growth, teach new skills, ensure socialization and channel energy in a positive way.

The Montreal Region Recreation Department is responsible for:

  • the Sports and recreation plan
  • the schedule for free activities
  • day camp
  • aquatic sports and fitness programs
  • support for recreational clubs
  • outdoor stores for equipment rental
  • recreational facilities and training rooms
  • recreational vehicles
  • outdoor outings
