Service de garde de dernier recours

When families are unable to implement their Family Care Plan (see below), they can ask to meet with a social worker, who will determine how to facilitate the family’s access to childcare services in the community or at the MFRC. The goal of an agreement between the MFRC and the family is to provide the family with a temporary, short-term solution to help find a more lasting solution. Each agreement is made individually to find the solution best adapted to the needs, and in accordance with the MFSP Emergency Child Care Policy (2015).

The plan is addressed to:
  • Families needing childcare to meet urgent and unpredictable needs.
  • Families in need of childcare respite as a result of:
    • Deployment/absence
    • Illness/injury
    • Transfer
    • Mourning
    • Other
  • The service is also available to parents of children with special needs.
*** Allow time for processing the request and setting up services. The time period may vary depending on the availability of the service, but it is usually between 24 and 48 hours.***
