• Why writing in Servir?

There are several reasons why you may wish to submit articles to Servir:
 
There is something new at your unit
New commander, new equipment, new mission, new operation, new construction...
 
Accomplishments and testimonials
Military, sports or personal exploits, challenges taken up, performance rewarded, experiences lived...
 
Events
Important anniversary, special occasion, launch, ribbon cutting, inauguration, commitment to a cause, visit of an important figure, death...
 
Exceptional facts and people
Exercises, excursions, symposiums, theme week, little-known professions, artists...
 
Progress
Improvement, technology, investment, discovery...


• To sybmit an article

Servir is published every other Wednesday. Consult the publication schedule for publication dates and deadlines (by which you must submit your article for a given publication).
 
  • Send us a Word document without layout, photos or embedded objects.
  • Write the meaning of acronyms in full.
  • If possible, do not exceed 500 words.
  • Don't forget to mention the author's name, position and place of work.
  • Photos must be provided as JPG or BMP files. Captions (to be included in the Word file) must describe the content of the photo and, if possible, contain the names of the people appearing in the photo. Don't forget to provide the name of the photographer.
  • Send your photos and Word document to: servir@forces.gc.ca.
  • The editor in chief reserves the right to edit submitted articles. Occasionally, your article may not be selected for publication.
