Playgroups

Families are welcome to join us on Tuesdays in Gatineau, Wednesdays in Uplands, and Fridays in Kanata from 9-11 where parents and child come together for fun and educational activities as well as to socialize with other military families. This is for families of children aged 0-6yrs.

Brain Train

Homework club for youth 6-12yrs held on Wednesday nights from 4:30PM to 6:00PM. Bring your homework and we will bring the Pizza! This program follows the school year calendar. Registration is open from Monday at 8:00AM to Wednesday at 12:00PM.

Operation School Readiness

Every August the MFRC hosts a two-week preparation course for children who are starting school in September. This program runs from 9-12 and will help get the children prepared for what being in kindergarten will look like.

  • Playtime Platoon
  • Go Family Interactive Map. A service developed to show the locations and contact information for child and family services in Ottawa. 
  • EarlyON Playgroups. As one of Ontario's EarlyON Child and Family Centres, the Parents Resource Centre is pleased to offer a diverse range of playgroups and services for young children of all ages, at all stages of early development.
  • Boys and girls club of Ottawa. A vatiery and quality of these programs are meant to be engaging, accessible for all, and contribute towards the overall development of good citizens and leaders withing the community.
  • Ottawa offers try it passes for fitness facilities. The City of Ottawa buildings to try an activity once before paying for memberships or entry fees (e.g. public swim)
