Problems, questions and feedback
1. What is the FORCE Rewards Program?
The FORCE Rewards Program uses material rewards to recognize Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) personnel who achieve a high fitness level by scoring Silver or higher on the FORCE Fitness Profile.
2. Why does the CAF have a material rewards program for fitness?
The CAF has a material rewards program to motivate CAF personnel to challenge themselves to achieve higher levels of fitness and overall health. The program aims to connect with a military member’s personal reasons to achieve fitness goals by tapping into a member’s sense of pride.
The material rewards program was developed based on the opinions of CAF personnel in uniform and the available scientific evidence related to what extrinsically and intrinsically motivates people. Specifically, the Directorate of Fitness used a questionnaire to obtain feedback from approximately 15,000 CAF personnel, which included seven focus groups. It was determined that rewards provide a sense of accomplishment and recognizes a member’s effort to achieve a fitness goal, while also instilling a sense of pride for being recognized by their colleagues.
3. How was the FORCE Rewards Program scoring tables determined?
Based on the results of over 109,000 FORCE Evaluations performed between 1 Apr 2016 and 31 Mar 2018, thresholds were created to ensure 50% of CAF personnel could achieve an Incentive level. Approximately 34% could achieve Bronze, 14% Silver, 2% Gold and 0.1% Platinum.
Age, and sex-specific scoring tables were updated on 1 January 2019 for each of the four (4) FORCE components to ensure a fair distribution of points. These four (4) components, each scored out of 100, are combined to make up the Operational Fitness, which is scored out of a total of 400 points.
Health-Related Fitness is scored on a 100-point scale, where predicted VO2 max (cardiovascular fitness estimated from the Intermittent Loaded Shuttles task, the measurement of your Waist Circumference and your sex) accounts for 75 points and waist circumference accounts for the remaining 25 points.
What are the rewards and who is eligible?:
4. What are the rewards, and do I have a choice?
The rewards are predetermined based on the FORCE Fitness Profile Incentive level you achieve. The 2020 material rewards are:
Silver: Multifunctional headwear or tee shirt (while quantities last)
Platinum: Hoodie, certificate of recognition and a pin to be worn on your dress uniform
Periodic surveys will be sent to a random sample of CAF personnel for ideas related to the future line of reward products.
5. Who is eligible for the FORCE Rewards Program?
Starting on 1 January 2020, all CAF personnel are eligible for a reward. Only the first FORCE Evaluation of the calendar year is considered for a reward.
6. Am I still eligible for a reward if I wasn’t evaluated using the FORMeFIT electronic evaluation system?
Yes. You are eligible for a reward if you have achieved Silver, Gold or Platinum on a FORCE Evaluation supervised by Personnel Support Program (PSP) Fitness Staff or CAF FORCE Evaluator using the FORMeFIT or a DND 279.
7. Am I eligible for a reward if I have completed another physical fitness evaluation, like a Job Standard Test?
No. Personnel must complete a FORCE Evaluation to be eligible for the FORCE Rewards Program.
Claiming a reward:
8. If I am eligible, how do I claim a reward?
The PSP Fitness Staff or CAF FORCE Evaluators (for Reservist) will inform you during the debriefing of your FORCE Evaluation if you are eligible for a reward. It is your responsibility to log on to the Logistik Unicorp website to claim your reward.
When claiming your reward on the Logistik Unicorp website, you will be asked to select, from a drop down menu, the Base/Wing/Unit where you would like your reward to be delivered. Your reward will either be delivered to your PSP Fitness Staff for Regular Force or to your Unit CO for Reserve Force locations.
9. What happens if I don’t claim my reward?
Your reward must be claimed within the eligibility year otherwise it will expire. The deadline to claim your material reward is 15 January of the following calendar year. For instance, if you become eligible for a reward in 2020, you must claim your reward online before 15 January 2021. It is recommended to plan your FORCE Evaluation accordingly in order to claim your reward before the deadline.
10. How long will it take to receive my reward?
After you claim your reward online, it should be delivered to your selected location within six (6) weeks.
Please note that this timeline could be longer for CAF members who achieved Platinum or are posted OUTCAN.

If you entered your email address on the Logistik Unicorp website, you will receive an email notification when your reward is shipped.

a. The FORCE Rewards Platinum pin may be worn with order of dress 1, 1A, 2B, 3, and 3B. The pin is:a. worn centered on the right breast pocket flap of jackets and shirts, midway between the button and the top of the flap;
b. worn centered on the right breast of jackets, service dress, navy blue, and on women’s jackets and shirts 1.2 cm (1/2 in.) down from the bottom edge of the name tag to the top point of the emblem; and
c. if worn with other devices, the pin shall be evenly spaced across the pocket flap or below the name tag, in the order listed, the first nearer the right arm. For example, the Safe Driver Award pin will be worn nearest to the right arm.
The FORCE Rewards Platinum pin is worn during the year the Platinum Incentive level is achieved and the following year. For example, a 2020 Platinum pin may be worn up to 31 December 2021.
The FORCE Rewards Platinum pin is not to be worn on your CADPAT, NCD, Flight Suit or Multi-Cam.
16. What happens if I complete another FORCE Evaluation within the same year?
Your reward will be based on the first FORCE Evaluation you complete during the calendar year (1 January to 31 December). If you passed the FORCE Evaluation, but are unsuccessful at reaching the required Incentive level, you are not eligible for a reward. A CAF member may not make multiple attempts at the FORCE Evaluation in order to achieve multiple rewards or increase their score in order to obtain another reward.
17. What happens if I fail the FORCE Evaluation on my first attempt but then earn an Incentive level on my second attempt?
That is the only exception that will be accepted. If you fail your first FORCE Evaluation, and then reach the Incentive level on your second attempt, you will be eligible for the FORCE Rewards Program.
