Job Fair Workshop

With several new businesses opening their doors in Petawawa in the coming months, there will be a number of new job openings. Petawawa Employment Service is holding a workshop to help you get ready for upcoming job fairs. This is the perfect opportunity to update your resume and cover letter, and get some tips from our employment counsellors that will help you put your best foot forward in a job interview.

Are you a military family that has been newly posted to Petawawa? Our Employment Service team will be hosting an information session for you, so that we can help you transition into the area by finding the job you want. Drop-in for information about our services, the METSpouse program, the local labour market, and more. Bring your resume with you for advice from our employment counsellors on how to give a great first impression and get an interview.
Military Transition Workshop
September 22 / 9 AM - NOON - Please register up to one day in advance
This workshop is designed to equip you with the information and tools you will need to manage your transition from a military to a civilian career. You will learn how to write a resume that effectively conveys your military experience and value, effective job search skills and interviewing techniques.
September 21 / 2 - 4 PM or 6 - 8 PM (Drop-in)
Drop-in to 3025 Petawawa Blvd. Unit D and leave with an updated resume. Our door is open if you need help getting started.
Personality Dimensions Workshop
September 27 / 6 - 9 PM / Petawawa Public Library (Please register by September 26)
Personality Dimensions helps explain what motivates behaviour in people with different personalities or temperaments.Are you a Resourceful Orange? Authentic Blue? Inquiring Green? Or Organized Gold? Let us explain why having a different colour means that you may behave or communicate differently with one another.
This LinkedIn workshop will teach you to create a professional profile that puts your best foot forward and shows off your abilities and accomplishments.

Writing the perfect cover letter can be difficult. Drop-in for any of these sessions and get advice about what employers are looking for in a cover letter.

Ace the Interview

Gain confidence and feel comfortable in interview settings. This workshop will teach you how to answer difficult questions and showcase your abilities in a way that will get an employer's attention. Topics include: interview etiquette, before & after the interview, and much more.
Youth Pizza Night - Information Session
September 13 / 5 - 7 PM (Please register by September 11)
Come learn about our services and get help with writing a resume and cover letter that will land you a job! Whether it’s your first job, or a summer job, we’ll help you to get the job you want. This program is free and for youth ages 15-29.

WHMIS was designed to ensure the safety of employers and employees while at the workplace. Finish this course and feel informed of the dangers and hazards associated with chemicals and substances that you may come into contact with while on the job.
