Are you wondering what to wear to that important job interview?

When it comes to finding a new job, it is so important to put your best foot forward.

We have all heard that networking is important, but do you know what steps to take to build a network that could help you with you job serach?  This session will give you ideas about how to meet potential employers - or people who could introduce you to a potential employer.

11:30 - 1:30 - Expert Advice on Hair, Make-up and Grooming
Portia Strang and one of her team members from The Urban Lounge will be joining us to answer questions, and give personal advice about hair, make-up and nails.  Find out how your can look more professional - while maintaining you own sense of style.

1:00 - Put Your Best Foot Forward
Join us as we get advice from a style expert.  What should you wear to meet a prospective employer?  What do interviewers notice about a candidate's appearance when they first walk into a room?  How can your style help -- or hinder -- your efforts to get the job you want.

Clothing Swap

We all have items in our closet that no longer fit us (either our bodies or our style).  If there are items taking up space in your closte, drop them off at the PMFRC for our clothing swap.

Then join us on April 24 to see if the perfect item is waiting for you.

Do you have items to donate?

We are looking for gently-used PROFESSIONAL clothing for men and women (blouses, dresses, suits etc...).  Maternity items are also welcome!

Items must be:

  • washed and ironed
  • in good condition (no rips, stains, broken zippers etc)
  • dropped off at Employment Service or the South Side Community Centre by Friday, April 20.

You can also contribute accessories such as belts, ties, gently used purses and shoes, unopened makeup or hair products.
