As many of our families are currently experiencing a deployment with their loved one away assisting in areas that have been affected by flooding, we have decided to postpone this event until June 14. We want to make sure that as many family members as possible will be able to attend.
If you have already registered for this event, you do not have to register again.
Are you a military family member that has kept ’the home fire burning’ while your loved one was away? If so, the PMFRC would like to recognize you for all that you do.
If your loved one was away during the last high-readiness season, we would like to invite you to attend our Heart and Home Heroes event on June 14. This special evening is an opportunity for military family members to step out of the background and into the spotlight for a well-deserved thank you.
We have a number of guest speakers lined up, refreshments and special gifts for our honourees.
The evening will also feature an awards ceremony to recognize honourees in the following categories:
If you have a story that you would like to submit for our awards ceremony, submit it online by clicking this link. The deadline to submit your story is June 4.
- The funniest deployment story - although it may not have seemed funny at the time
- The most heartwarming story
- The best survival story - tell us how you dealt with Murphy’s Law
- Most supportive - tell us how you were supported during the deployment – or how you supported others
- Best advice for a family member facing a deployment
Finally, we want to remind everyone that your loved one did not have to be away on an overseas deployment for you to be included. This event is open to any family member who faced a work-related separation including: Imposed Restriction (IR), courses or exercises.
This event is limited to the first 100 honourees who register, so sign up today.
Is there a Heart & Home Hero that you would like to recognize? Enter their details on the registration form below, and we will send them an invitation to this special evening.
