National Addictions Awareness Week (NAAW) highlights issues and solutions to help address alcohol- and other drug-related harm. It provides an opportunity for Canadians to learn more about prevention, to talk about treatment and recovery, and to bring forward solutions for change.

25 November to 1 December 2019
The Impact of Stigma
Stigma is a significant barrier to wellness and good health for people who use substances.
This years’ theme for National Addictions Awareness Week is Stigma Ends with Me. With your help, we want to increase understanding of the devastating stigma associated with substance use and addiction and its impact on the well-being of people touched by this health issue.
Ending stigma and breaking down barriers to recovery and wellness or good health is extremely important. Together with partners like the Community Addictions Peer Support Association and you, we are taking the conversation about stigma nationwide.
