Play Troop is the PMFRC’s daily play group. It enables parents, grandparents, caregivers and children (ages 0-6) to interact and share in the joys and challenges of raising children. Monday to Wednesday, the program is open to children ages 0 - 6. On Thursday and Friday, we welcome children ages 0 - 8. Wednesdays sessions are facilitated in French.

Our program focuses on the four foundations of learning from the Ministry of Education guideline “How Does Learning Happen” : belonging, well-being, engagement and expression.
The Play Troop program promotes:
October 29 - November 2: Play with costumes and explore some unique hats and make your own mask
- literacy, social, and creative experience through play,
- gross- and fine- motor skill activities, indoor and outdoor play in a Natural play environment,
- crafts, and
- interactive circle time.
November 5 - 9: Paint leaves and play hide-and-seek
November 12 - 16: Build a castle and play with empty boxes
November 19 - 23: Play with our tinker tray and build a robot
November 26 - 30: Explore feeling cards and emotion colours
December 3 - 7: Learn about family traditions and colours
December 10 - 14: Create a self-portrait, a hand print painting and a favourite things collage
December 17 - 21: This week is all about winter! Play with cotton ball "snow", learn about winter animals, and create snowy process art
December 24 - 28: Closed
