Play Troop Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Play Troop is the PMFRC’s daily play group.  It enables parents, grandparents, caregivers and children (ages 0-6) to interact and share in the joys and challenges of raising children.

Our program focuses on the four foundations of learning from the Ministry of Education guideline “How Does Learning Happen” : belonging, well-being, engagement and expression.  

The Play Troop program promotes: 
  • literacy, social, and creative experience through play, 
  • gross- and fine- motor skill activities,  indoor and outdoor play in a Natural play environment, 
  • crafts, and
  • interactive circle time.  

Mondays (ages 0-6) 
Children – with help from their parent or care giver -- will participate in activities, focusing on early literacy skills, fine and gross motor skills and numeracy, and school readiness.  

Tuesdays (ages 0-6) 
Play Troop meets on the North Side at the Rec Plex, 30 Festubert Blvd. for activities, focusing on early literacy skills, fine and gross motor skills and numeracy, and school readiness.  

Wednesdays  (ages 0-6) 
Children – with help from their parent or caregiver -- will participate in activities through exploration, play and inquiry.  Focusing on early literacy skills, fine and gross motor skills and numeracy, and school readiness.  Wednesday sessions will be facilitated in French.  

Thursdays  (ages 0-8) 
Children – with help from their parent or care giver -- will participate in activities, focusing on early literacy skills, fine and gross motor skills and numeracy, and school readiness.  

Free-Play Fridays  (ages 0-8) 
Free Play Fridays will promote creativity in our little ones.  Children will be able to make connections through playful interactions in a safe and fun environment.

The sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are presented in partnerhip with Ontario Early Years.
 
Please bring a peanut free snack and indoor shoes.
