Tell us more about your role at the PMFRC and the programs that you are involved in.
Before the COVID era, you could find me at the EarlyON/Play Troop Program in the mornings, and the Before-and-After School Program at Our Lady of Sorrows in the afternoons!

More recently, I’ve been creating content focused toward children and their families through a variety of fun videos that you can find on the PMFRC YouTube Channel!

How long have you worked for the PMFRC?
I’ve been a part of the PMFRC team since February 2020.

Tell me about your background (experience, education, etc.)
I’ve had over five years of experience working in a variety of child care settings. I graduated from St. Lawrence College with a diploma in Early Childhood Education, and then registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators in 2019.

What can people expect to see when they first meet you?
I would like to think that I am a very positive, open-minded person who is always willing to lend an ear to both friends and strangers! I am very approachable, and love meeting new people!

What is your favourite part about working for the PMFRC?
I really admire the PMFRC’s dedication to provide such a wide variety of high-quality programs to Military families. They have amazing resources for mental health, deployment and employment. They make every effort to strengthen the connection between members, their families, and the community.

Where are you from and what brought you to Petawawa? How long have you lived here?
I’m originally from Kingston, Ontario. I moved up to Petawawa with my fiancé for our first posting in the Spring of last year.

What advice do you have for families transitioning to Petawawa?
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and try new things! There are so many great people in the community that are looking for new friends and experiences. Definitely take advantage of the outdoors - you won’t regret it!

What is your favourite thing about living in the area? What is your favourite thing to do in the summer?
I’ve really enjoyed getting out on local trails for hikes (Petawawa Point, K&P Trail, etc.) and exploring the Bonnechere caves. I’m still discovering many amazing local businesses in both Pembroke and Petawawa.

Leave us with a few words of wisdom -- what is your favourite quote?
“But even if I am weak, I can still be kind. For true power is in giving instead of taking.”
