Tell us more about your role at the PMFRC and the programs that you are involved in.
My team and I work hard to make sure that new families feel welcome, and that they have the information they need to settle into a new community.
We provide families with details about PMFRC services, as well as information about the surrounding community. If you have questions about getting a drivers license, finding a job, securing health care, or finding a school for your children, give us a call. We want to help make your transition to Petawawa as smooth as possible.
How long have you worked for the PMFRC?
I have worked here for 10 years.
Tell me about your background (experience, education, etc.)
I have extensive work experience in customer service and sales. Having moved across Canada with my husband and two children, I have also worked as a teacher’s assistant in various schools in Wainwright and Ottawa.
What can people expect to see when they first meet you?
My friendly smile and sense of humour
What is your favorite part about working for the PMFRC?
When families tell me that they feel so much better about their upcoming move to Petawawa after having a chance to meet with us and receiving all of the information we have to share.
What is your greatest accomplishment or proudest moment working for the PMFRC?
With the help of the Marketing Department, we are always trying to come up with innovative ideas for our Welcome Package. We started with a large paper copy of the Welcome Package, which then turned into a welcome CD with interactive videos. We currently have a smaller paper version and a downloadable flip book that is always accessible on our website.
Where are you from and what brought you to Petawawa? How long have you lived here?
I am originally from Quebec, the Military brought us to Petawawa in 2007.
What advice do you have for families transitioning to Petawawa?
Make sure to drop by The Family Centre at 12 Reichwald Crescent to meet my team and I.
What is your favorite thing about living in the area? What is your favorite thing to do in the winter? The summer?
I love the outdoors, regardless of the weather you will always see me walking my beautiful dog. I also enjoy kayaking and fishing, as well as snowshoeing and downhill skiing.
Leave us with a few words of wisdom -- what is your favorite quote?
Everything happens for a reason.
