Tell us more about your role at the PMFRC and the programs that you are involved in.
I work in the Marketing Department here at the PMFRC where our goal is to share the organization’s story with the military community. I work on logos, the CAFconnection.ca website, and make sure families and members know what services and program we offer at the PMFRC through social media.

How long have you worked for the PMFRC?
I have been with the PMFRC for four months, and I absolutely love it!

Tell me about your background (experience, education, etc.)
I graduated in 2015 with a double major in Communications and Journalism, with a minor in Criminology from St. Thomas University in New Brunswick. Before moving to Petawawa, I was working as a Communications Coordinator with a provincial non-profit in Fredericton, NB.

What can people expect to see when they first meet you?
I am very friendly and love to chat with everyone I meet.

What is your favourite part about working for the PMFRC?
I love working with the other members of the PMFRC whether volunteers or other departments! Everyone is so kind and knowledgeable. I like working together to tell our story.

Where are you from and what brought you to Petawawa? How long have you lived here?
I’m originally from Prince Edward Island. I moved to Petawawa with my husband who is in the CAF. We have been here for a year now, and I can honestly say it reminds me a lot of home.

What advice do you have for families transitioning to Petawawa?
Use the PMFRC resources! They are there to help you in any way, I took advantage when I first moved here because I didn’t know anyone. If you love the outdoors, there is plenty to do in both the summer and winter months. Plus, if you do miss the bigger city atmosphere, Ottawa is only two hours away.

What is your favourite thing about living in the area? What is your favourite thing to do in the winter? The summer?
I love the amount of hiking trails there are in the area, and how close we are to Algonquin Park! In the summer I love kayaking, camping or going to the beach. I’m not a fan of winter, so I like to stay cozy inside where I can play music, practice dance or catch up some of my favourite shows.

Leave us with a few words of wisdom -- what is your favourite quote?
