Tell us more about your role at the PMFRC.
As the front line receptionist at the North Side office, I answer the phones and try to get as much information as I can to direct callers to the right person.  I also accept child care payments in person and by phone.

People can expect to see a smiling face and someone who is eager to help anyone passing my desk.

How long have you worked for the PMFRC?
I started in February 2017, so I have been here for a little over a year.

Tell me about your background (experience, education, etc.)
I have more than 25 years of experience in accounting and office administration, and seven years of experience in condominium property management.

What can people expect to see when they first meet you?
People can expect to see a smiling face and someone who is eager to help anyone passing my desk.

What is your favorite part about working for the PMFRC?
Being so close to the North Side casual child care, I enjoy seeing the children grow from month to month.

Where are you from, and what brought you to Petawawa? How long have you lived here?
I moved to Pembroke from Collingwood, Ontario in September 2015 to help my daughter and her family as she learns to deal with -- and control -- a recently developed disability.

What advice do you have for families transitioning to Petawawa?
The internet and the PMFRC are your best resources to find out what is happening.  Let it become your best friend.

What is your favorite thing about living in the area?
There is so much to do in the community – and most are free or inexpensive.

What is your favorite thing to do in the winter? The summer?
I love to bake, and the winter really is the best time to do so because I am not a snow person.  This past summer I started to walk, hike, and explore both Pembroke and Petawawa.  I love to garden and grow fresh vegetables to eat.

Leave us with a few words of wisdom -- what is your favorite quote?
“Family comes first.”  No matter what happens around you, your family is everything. Enjoy them while they are with you, because one day they won’t be.  Should have, could have, would have -- there is no time like the present -- to tell someone that you love them.
