I voluneer because it gives me the opportunity to mold the community into what I want to live in, and raise my children in.

Why do you volunteer?
I volunteer because I was going crazy sitting at home while on sick leave. I figured why not do some good while also getting out of the house!

What’s been your favourite volunteer experience?
So far I’m really enjoying working on the newsletter! I’ve had so much fun meeting with Christina and bouncing ideas off each other.

What do people see when they meet you for the first time?
A taller than average young woman with a big, friendly smile and long, red hair.

Why do you volunteer?
I used to work here and volunteering keeps me connected with the PMFRC. It feels good to be able to give that time back to the Agency.

What's been your favourite volunteer experience?
I like to help fix things, like day care toys. I’ll bring them home and fix them and then bring them back.

What do people see when they meet you for the first time?
A guy that smiles, that’s engaging, that wants to help and who will accept help from anyone. I like inclusivity and work well with everybody.

Why do you volunteer?
I started volunteering to meet people socially, and to have a bit of adult conversation.  I now also enjoy feeling like I am a bigger part of the community.  I have made new friends, and hopefully a network of new contacts for whatever the future holds.  My kids love the ladies at North Side Casual Care. They have made new friends, and get to have social interactions I cannot provide them at home.

What's been your favourite volunteer experience?
I have enjoyed all my volunteer experiences but my favourite volunteer experience so far would be the Assistant to the HR Generalist/Administrative Assistant at the PMFRC.  It is more of a "behind-the-scenes" position, but I am enjoying the challenges and being intellectually stimulated.  I am almost always doing something different.

What do people see when they meet you for the first time?
Most people can expect to see the top of my head when we first meet – I’m short! The next thing would probably be a smile. I am a hard worker, and love to lend a hand when I can.

Why do you volunteer?
I'd like to say that I volunteer for altruistic reasons like I want to help the military family community... but really, I volunteer for the free food. The free food and the friendships that I've made over the years.

What's been your favourite volunteer experience?
I don't have a single favourite volunteer experience. There are many different activities and events that I have taken part in that have been an absolute blast.

What do people see when they meet you for the first time?
The fact that I am a human and not five cats stacked together in a trench coat.

Why do you volunteer?
I volunteer to help out the PMFRC! They do so much for the military community and have helped me so much. I really enjoy meeting people when volunteering.

What's been your favourite volunteer experience?
It's hard to choose my favourite volunteer experience. I do love Coffee Chat and I really enjoy helping at events - I think my favourite was helping out at the Halloween Party.

What do people see when they meet you for the first time?
I'm not sure what people see when they meet me for the first time! I've been told that I shake hands like a man… I think people probably see a friendly face, that is eager to get to know them.

Why do you volunteer?
I volunteer because I gain a great sense of satisfaction from helping others. Additionally, it provides me an opportunity to meet and socialize with other members of our community and learn more about the lives of those around me.

What's been your favorite volunteer experience?
My favorite volunteer experience would have to be starting the community garden with the youth volunteers. Being able to talk and work with the youth volunteers is a great time. Speaking with them allows you to get a better understanding of another significant aspect of military living, that of the family.

What do people see when they meet you for the first time?
I believe people see my enthusiasm for new experiences and for opportunities for learning. Also, I hope to convey a sense of openness, honesty, and empathy.
