Physical Re-Conditioning

Physical Re-Conditioning

The PSP Reconditioning Program (PSP-RP) and Rehabilitation for Performance Program (R4P) are administered for the benefit of all CAF personnel cleared and referred by CFHS.

REHABILITATION FOR PERFORMANCE

The R4P Program is a standardized approach to re-gaining function and performance in the wake of certain types of physical injury primarily to the musculoskeletal system.

PHYSICAL RECONDITIONING PROGRAM

The PSP-RP is a primarily individualized approach that can be potentially appropriate for re-gaining function and performance given any type of injury, physical or otherwise.

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS

Once registered in either R4P or the PSP-RP, you will have a training program issued and you will have direct access to a specialist in exercise physiology. The specialist will help you learn the program. To enable you to carry it out, you may be registered to use the Conditioning Lab, which is a private area of the Recreation Centre set aside and equipped specifically for those who are following a prescribed training program.

AQUATIC PHYSICAL TRAINING

In addition to the above, our Base Commander's physical training (which occurs every Wednesday morning) includes a special option available for anyone with a medical chit. If the chit prevents or inhibits you from doing the primary activity of the day, you will be permitted to attend aquatic-PT, occurring at the same time in the swimming pool.

To learn more about these initiatives, contact the PSP Reconditioning Specialist.
