The goal of the second language program is to enable families of CAF personnel to function with increased comfort and confidence in an environment where the predominant local language is not their first language. This facilitates integration, enhances life skills, and improves the quality of life. For some families, this training helps them become more involved in their communities, especially if their primary language is different than the primary language of the community. For other families, the training allows them to learn a second language when it's convenient for them.
