Q: Is the weather warm all year round?
A: Average temperatures in the summer are a high of 32C/90F and a low of 24C/75F. In the winter the average temperatures are a high of 18C/65F and a low of 7C/44F.

Q: How frequent are hurricanes?
A:
Hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th. Hurricanes are unpredictable and frequency of hurricanes and the affect they have on an area varies from year to year. Potential hurricane impacts at Tyndall AFB are closely monitored and tracked, so as to provide enough time to properly prepare or evacuate families.

Q: Is the local wildlife dangerous?
A:
Potentially dangerous wildlife, including alligators, snakes, spiders, and bears are all present on Tyndall AFB. Hazardous marine wildlife, such as sharks, jellyfish, and stingrays, are a risk at all local beaches. Although the risk of encountering these animals is extremely rare, awareness is recommended when engaging in outdoor activities where they may be present.

Q: Where should I live? What are the good neighbourhoods?

Q: What is there to do in the Tyndall area?
A:
Panama City Beach is a major tourist destination, with lots of fun activities available for all ages.The Panama City area is best known for its gorgeous, white-sand beaches. The 43 km stretch of beautiful beachfront is open to the public all day, every day, and is the main attraction in the area.
 
Panama City Beach is also home to lots of family-friendly fun! Check out Wonderworks, Ripley’s ‘Believe it Or Not!,’ Dave & Busters, Zoo World, Gulf World marine park, the Science & Discovery Centre, or one of the many other fun activities, such as mini putt and go-carts!
 
Pier Park is a popular outdoor shopping district right on the beach. Featuring 124 shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues, it is a very popular date-night destination for our Canadian families.
 
The Panama City area is home to many beautiful parks and outdoor recreation areas, such as St. Andrew’s State Park, Frank Brown Park, and the Lynn Haven Sports complex. The beautiful weather also allows for year-round outdoor activities, including surfing, kayaking and canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, boat tours, pools and playgrounds. 
 
Of course, another wonderful feature of living in the Panama City area is our close proximity to other famous American cities and landmarks! You will be less than a day’s drive from Pensacola, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Atlanta, Savannah, Tampa, Daytona Beach, St. Augustine, Miami, The Kennedy Space Center of course, Disney World! Get out and explore!
