 CLIMBING

Climbing is a sport that requires agility, flexibility, strength and muscular endurance. Great challenges adapted to each age group and each person. Bring your running shoes and wear a sport clothing. All other equipment is provided. Please note that the presence of a parent is mandatory in the Spiders, Lizards 1-2-3 and Climbers 1 classes. Courses are 8 weeks long.

Spiders: This climbing course is for children aged 4 to 6 years old. Its goal is to explore climbing through play and challenges so that the child develops confidence, coordination and agility while having fun. A follow-up notebook will be filled out by the instructor at the end of each course to help monitor the child's progress.
*** All participants must be actively accompanied by an adult. The parent will assist during the rope climbs and they will guide the child during the extra activities.

Lizards 1, 2 et 3: This climbing course is for children between 7 and 12 years old who wish to start climbing or who have completed the Spiders course. Its goal is to explore the safety techniques and physical skills required for climbing through play and challenges. The child will learn to master heights and develop agility, muscular strength and coordination.  At the end of the session, the child will receive a progress log to indicate whether he or she has successfully completed level 1, 2 or 3 of the course. Upon successful completion, they will receive a carabiner as a reward. Upon successful completion of Level 3, the child will be able to register for Climbing Level 1.
*** The participants in Lizard 1,2,3 must be accompanied by an adult who will assist him/her during the rope climbs and guide him/her in the technical activities.

Its goal is to deepen safety techniques and to acquire the physical and technical skills specific to climbing, through challenges, so that the child becomes a seasoned and autonomous climber. At the end of the session, the child will receive a progress log to indicate whether he or she has successfully completed level 1, 2 or 3 of the course. Upon successful completion, they will receive a carabiner as a reward. Upon successful completion of Level 3, the child will be directed to a competitive level offered in a specialized centre.

    Advanced Taekwondo (green to black)
Group for green to black belts. Athletes in this group will refine the techniques already learned but will also learn techniques related to their next belt level, up to their advancement to the black belt level. Leadership will also be a major focus for black belt achievement. For example: setting an example by respecting the four values of Taekwondo, having an exemplary attitude, knowing what they have already learned in order to share it with others, assisting the coach, teaching others at the coach's request...

Recreational Taekwondo - (white to black)
Same material taught as in the intermediate and advanced groups! Beginners can also start in this group!  Being only with adults, no need for discipline. The classes are adapted for people who work the next day, who don't necessarily want to put on a belt, but have had a hot workout, to let off steam, relieve stress, have a good laugh with the gang... On the other hand, serious people who want to improve their belt skills will also be at the right place!

Beginner Taekwondo (beginner, white, white-yellow bar)
Aimed at athletes starting Taekwondo for the first time and white bar yellow belts aged between 6 and 99 years old. Often parents also start Taekwondo at the same time as their child. We will teach them all the material to progress to the yellow belt level. For example: moving, kicking, punching, blocking, forms, self-defense, introduction to Olympic fighting. At the end of the session, if the student has learned the material well, they will be invited to take an exam to obtain a yellow belt. The student who reaches the yellow belt level will be able to join the intermediate Taekwondo group!
*** Provide an annual membership fee of $17 for coloured belts and $32 for black belts, annual affiliation to the Quebec Taekwondo Federation.
Membership is mandatory if you practice Taekwondo.
Taekwondo belt exam fees are $20 for juniors and $30 for seniors.
Purchase of a $60 Taekwondo uniform, members must have it to take the belt exam.
