The Camp de jour Courcelette offers an enjoyable and entertaining recreational experience to the children of the community during the summer months in a safe environment. Your child will discover new interests by promoting personal growth, learning new skills, socializing and fostering their energy in a positive way.

SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
(descriptions are organised by age)

Programs for 5-6yrs

GRANDE VIRÉE 
(5-6 yrs)
For a week, it's time to spoil yourself and do the "Grand Tour". Special activities and outings will take place every day for the child's enjoyment. See the Grand Tour section for more details on planned activities. 
 
MINI-MUSICIAN (5-6 yrs)
During one week, experiment with several instruments and have fun making music with a teacher from the Ovation School of Music.
Length per day: between 1 and 2 hours.
 
MINI-DANSE (5-6yrs)
Follow the rhythm and let the music carry you away! During this intensive 2-week program, prepare a choreography with an experienced teacher from AxenDanse.
Length per day: between 1h and 1h30

MINI-GYM (5-6yrs)
Great opportunity to introduce you to floor gymnastics. Rolls, balance, handstands, beam exercises, jumps are part of this program. Come and learn while having fun!
Length per day: between 1h and 1h30.  A ranking for the Fall 2020 session will be given at the end of the week.
  
MINI-SOCCER (5-6yrs)
You'll have the chance to learn the basics and play soccer with your teammates while having fun!
Length per day: between 1h and 1h30

SWIMMING Jr 1-2 (5-8yrs)
This 2-week intensive program will give children the opportunity to take their swimming to a higher level according to Red Cross standards. You will experience one class per day in addition to water safety activities. IMPORTANT: Bring your swimming report card with you to the first class.
Length per day: between 45 min. and 1h30.
ERROR NOTICE: The rate in the paper programming is not the correct price.
The correct rates are: Price until April 22nd = $285 (1 child); $265 (2 children+); $305 (starting April 23rd)

SPORTS MANIA (5-6yrs)
It's buzzing around here! From the best-known to the strangest of sports, develop your sporting skills across a wide range of activities.
Length per day: between 1h and 1h30
 
TOUCHE-À-TOUT (5-6yrs)
If you like a variety of activities, arts, sports, games, then get in on the action and you won't be disappointed!
(Regular type camp, without any particular specialty)

Programs for 7-8 yrs

MINI-ATHLÉTISME (7-8 yrs)
Are you jumping up or down? Come and do an athletics-style workout for sports people like you!
Length per day: between 1h and 1h30

MULTI-TRUCS (7-8 yrs)
Do you enjoy a variety of activities, arts, sports and games? Multi-Trucs is a varied program where every day brings us beautiful surprises!
(Regular type camp, without any particular specialty)

SPORTMANIA+ (7-8 yrs)
Do you have energy and you like it when you move? With Sportmania+ you will do new sports every day.
 Length per day: between 1h and 1h30

SWIMMING Jr 1-2 (5-8 yrs)
This 2-week intensive program will give children the opportunity to take their swimming to a higher level according to Red Cross standards. You will experience one class per day in addition to water safety activities. IMPORTANT: Bring your swimming report card with you to the first class.

Programs for 7-12 yrs

ARTISTE EN HERBE (7-12 yrs)
A full week to develop artistic projects by exploring your creative side with your leader.
Length per day: between 1h30 and 2hrs.

BASKETBALL (7-12 yrs)
Do you have LeBron James or Kevin Durant genes and want to come practice your favourite sport? Join us to learn new techniques and strategies!
Length per day: between 1h and 1h30

DÉFI ÉPIQUE (7-12 yrs)
Knights, pirates, privateers, and all other warriors are expected to prepare for the greatest battle ever seen in Courcelette! Build your weapons and armour and set out to conquer new kingdoms! We will also have a visit from Animation Laforge for 2 special workshops.
Length per day: between 1h30 and 2hrs.

GYMNASTIQUE (7-12 yrs)
Great opportunity to introduce you to floor gymnastics. In this intensive 2-week program, you will learn, among other things, how to do the bridge, side wheel, front and back flips and flic-flac rounds. There will be a skills presentation for the parents at the end of the program and participants will be given a ranking for the Fall 2020 session.
Length per day: between 1h30 and 2hrs.
 
HIP HOP (7-12 yrs)
Follow the rhythm and let the music carry you away! During this intensive 2-week program, prepare choreographies with an experienced teacher from AxenDanse. Performance for parents at the end of the program.
Length per day: between 1h30 and 2hrs.

JEUX DE SOCIÉTÉ (7-12yrs) *NEW*
The world of board games is big! Throughout the week, you will experience different types of game experiences. From strategy games to cooperative games to challenge games, there's something for everyone.
Length per day: between 1h30 and 2hrs.

MAGIE(7-12yrs)
Come and learn magic tricks and showmanship with the helpful advice of our professional magician. Presentation for parents at the end of the program.
Length per day: between 1h30 and 2hrs.

SCIENCES EN FOLIE (7-12yrs)
If you are curious, like to learn and discover new things, come and meet with the experts of 'Sciences en folie'. You will get to experience a variety of different experiments!
Length per day: between 1h30 and 2hrs.

SPORTS D’ENDURANCE (7-12 yrs) *NEW*
Do you have endless energy and you like to push yourself? You can develop your cardio and coordination skills through a variety of physical endurance activities, all with the goal of having fun.
( Bring a bicycle and a helmet for an activity during the week. Details to come after registration).

SOCCER (7-12 yrs)
Perfect your soccer techniques and develop your team spirit in the company of an experienced instructor.
Length per day: between 1h and 1h30

TAEKWONDO (7-12 yrs)
Our master Shawn Barbeau (6th Dan, World Taekwondo) is waiting for you for a 2 week intensive program to practice this martial art. You will learn the basic combative techniques in this Olympic style art. Personal challenge, self-improvement and fun will be encouraged. Wearing a Dobok is recommended but not mandatory. A belt test will be done at the end of the program. The cost of the belts are covered by the Community Recreation Department.
Length per day: between 1h15 and 1h30

ULTIMATE FRISBEE (7-12 yrs) *NEW*
Do you have a lot of energy and want to discover Ultimate Frisbee? This program is perfect for you! Within healthy competition, learn the basics of the sport and have fun in good company!
Length per day: between 1h30 and 2hrs.

VIENS CHANTER (7-12 yrs)
You love to sing and hum, so come share your voice with your friends and your leader. Have fun with a diverse and enjoyable music repertoire. You can also bring the lyricist inside you with a teacher from the Ovation School of Music. Presentation for parents at the end of the program.
Length per day: between 1h and 1h30

Programs for 9 to 12 yrs
 
ATHLÉTISME (9-12 yrs)
Introduction to athletics with a program specially designed for young people. Come to challenge yourself and experience the different disciplines of athletics.
Length per day: between 1h and 1h30

AVENTURE-O-MAX (9-12 yrs)
Do you enjoy a variety of activities, arts, sports and games? Adventure-O-Max is a varied program, full of adventure and challenges for older children.
(Regular type camp, without any particular specialty)
  
FUTUR REPORTER (Journal) (9-12yrs) *NEW*
Are you curious and want to communicate your ideas? Camp reporter-to-be is the perfect place for you. From Vox pop to interviews to the creation of a collective journal, you will be able to ask all the questions that pop into your head and make the most of your creativity. The newspaper created by the group will be available at the end of the program.
Length per day: between 1h30 and 2hrs.

ROBOTIQUE (9-12 yrs)
Come and create a world worthy of your imagination by learning the basics of robotic programming and use! Thanks to technology, you'll be able to build and move different robots, all while working as a team.
Length per day: between 1h30 and 2hrs.

RUGBY AMICAL (9-12 yrs) *NEW*
Do you want to discover rugby and challenge yourself? This program is perfect for you! Within healthy competition, learn the basics of the sport and have fun in good company!
Length per day: between 1h30 and 2hrs.

Note: The correction for Swimming Camp Jr1-2 is made in the camp grid.

Please note that the age considered for the camps is the age of the child as of September 30, 2020.
Example: My child will be 7 years old on August 3rd, so I can register him/her in the 7-12 year old camps, but also in the 5-6 year old camp for the weeks before his/her birthday.

RATES*
Our rates include supervised activities in the morning and afternoon.
*Rates are subject to change without notice.

DISCOUNT
Save money by registering before April 23, 2020:
  • 1 Child = Discount of $20 / week / child
  • 2 Children or more = Discount of $30 / week / child
Note: Children must be registered in the same weeks for the discount to apply.

TAX CREDIR
Day camps are part of daycare services, did you know that you could receive a tax credit of up to 75% of the cost of the camp!  The tax receipt (R-24) will be mailed to you in February.  For more information, please visit the website at Revenu Québec and Revenu Canada

 
TYPICAL DAY
We have a theme each week with different themed activities throughout the week. We will conclude the week on Friday with a special activity.

Here is an example of a typical day at Summer Camp:

  6:45am Start of supervised activities

  9:00am Start of specialized programs (between 1h and 2h)
11:00am Activities organized by the leader
12:00pm Lunch
  1:00pm Free swimming
  2:00pm Activities organized by the leader
  3:15pm Review of the day with competition

*Note: The Touch-of-Everythinng, Multi-Tivities and Adventure-O-Max camps will have 1 hour blocks of specialties during 3 mornings per week (arts, science and cooking). These specialties are subject to change without notice.
 
MANDATORY PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT

Date: Thursday, May 28, 2020 
Where: PSP Community Centre (bldg. 93)
Hours of Operation: 17h30 to 20h00 

The purpose of this information evening is to:
  • Meet the leaders
  • Receive the Parents' Guide
  • Receive your child's t-shirt
  • Complete the authorization documents and medical forms
  • Make an appointment for the swim test (Junior 5 level, bring a copy of your swimming report card to be exempted from the swim test)
  • Answering all your questions

The child's eligibility criteria are as follows:
  • Must be between 5 and 12 years old and a 'Regular Member' of the Sport and Recreation Plan (PSL).
  • Have a recognized diagnosis (mental health, intellectual or physical disability)
  • Desire to join a regular group
  • Be able to function in a group with accompaniment
  • Acting in a manner that does not jeopardize his or her safety and that of others
Note: All forms will be evaluated in accordance with our resources.

 LOCAL LIBRARY *NEW* 
In order to encourage the pleasure of reading among young people, the Camp de jour Courcelette wishes to set up a local library project for its supervised activity periods.
We are accepting donations of children's books to fill our camp with words and pictures!
