Families with children aged 1 - 8 years old are invited to join our Child & Family Services team for a virtual story hour. We will be having two sessions in January, the 5th and 19th at 10:00 AM live on Zoom. Please register your family by contacting our office, the first five families to register will receive a read-along package including the story time book and activity to join along with during the program.
Defence families (Military/Veteran/DND) are welcome to register for one or both of our crafts happening live on Zoom this January. Contact our office to register, participants will be contacted prior to event to arrange supply pickup from the WMFRC.
Families of all ages are welcome to join the WMFRC Child & Family Services team live on Zoom to create their very own salt painting masterpiece! Please register before 6 January, participants will be contacted prior to event to arrange supply pick-up.
Families with children aged 3-7 years old are welcome to join the WMFRC Child & Family Services team live on Zoom to create their very own I-Spy Bottle! Please register before 11 January, participants will be contacted prior to event to arrange supply pick-up.
Join WMFRC Second Language Coordinator Andrée on the evening of 14 January for Café Conversations live on Zoom. Andrée will provide a guided conversation for those wanting to enhance their second language skills, enjoy Café Franco at 7:00 PM to practice and enhance French, and Café Anglo at 8:00 PM to practice and enhance English. This event is open to Military spouses and dependents, please contact our office to register before 4:30 PM on Wednesday 13 January.
Youth along with their parents are invited to participate in this virtual introduction to banking live on Zoom, featuring a representative from our local Bank of Montreal branch. This virtual event is open to military and civilian families, contact our office today and learn why Its never too early to become financially responsible.
Join WMFRC Professional Development Coordinator Andrée as she provides an overview of the employment and education services available to defence families. This information session can be used as a refresher for existing community members, as well as an opportunity to inform new arrivals. Contact our office before 4:30 PM on 18 January to register for this event, zoom link will be provided to registrants closer to presentation date.
Parents/guardians are invited to attend this one hour live educative on Zoom featuring WMFRC Mental Health Coordinator Sarah, this session will include a discussion about healthy communication. Open to military and civilian attendees, contact our office before 18 January to register.
Let your family treat themselves to a relaxing spa treatment on Friday 22 January at 10:00 AM live on Zoom. Register before Wednesday 20 January by either calling or emailing our office, participants will be contacted prior to event to arrange a pickup time for their spa-package to follow along with during this event.

Join WMFRC Mental Health Coordinator Sarah for a virtual book club meeting! This month we're reading The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor, participants can contact the WMFRC and arrange pick-up for a copy of this book to enjoy in the month of January. Meeting will take place via Zoom on Wednesday 3 February at 7:00 PM, call our office for more information.
Become certified in Mental Health First Aid, open to the defence community (Veteran, Military & DND) along with their family members. With COVID-19 restrictions in place a customized blended version of Mental Health First Aid is being offered virtually on 8 & 10 February 2021 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. This blended version includes 2 hours of self-directed learning prior to 8 February, this link will be provided two weeks prior to course starting. There is no cost for this training, registration deadline is 21 January. Please call our office to register for this program.
The WMFRC is offering the Hold Me Tight program to military and veteran couples, this is a 12 week self-directed virtual program developed by Dr. Sue Johnson.
