All programs are free unless otherwise indicated. Each program will indicate how to register for it.
For programs presented on Zoom, you need a free Zoom account in order to participate on your computer. There is a phone-in option available as well. Video is not required nor is a computer as you can participate by phone, however it is a richer experience with video. For interactive programs on Facebook, you need a Facebook account to participate. As our Facebook page is public, you can view our events listings and postings without an account.
Positive Program - Get Lost
June’s theme is “Get Lost.” We will explore the positive side of getting lost, such as getting lost in a good book, losing the stress, or on an adventure in our beautiful province. We will also talk about not losing yourself or getting lost in a scramble of thoughts or patterns. Kick-off: Tuesday, June 1, 2000 - 2100 via Zoom. New Recruits Family Café
Has someone in your family just joined the Canadian Armed Forces? Would you like to learn about the services the MFRC can offer you and your family? Come and meet the Deployment Coordinator and other families of military members. Making connections in the military community means having support when you need it. Weekly, Fridays 11 am –12 pm. Virtual Mental Health First Aid - Veteran Community
Mental Health First Aid Veteran Community is the help provided to members of the Veteran Community if they are developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. It ensures that those most in contact with members of the Veteran Community can identify an emerging mental health problem and respond effectively. This program will run over Zoom (a free Zoom account is required). There are three modules. The first module is a self-led online portion that you must complete before attending Modules 2 and 3, the virtual classroom portions. Space is limited to a maximum of 15 participants, so register early. If there is enough demand, a second session may be added. June 9 & 10, 0900 - 1300. Whether you are a family of 4 or more, a two-person family, or are a family of one, these Make-Ahead Meals will make it easy to take your dinner outside as we focus on BBQ season. We will be making three freezer meals and a side dish and discussing some great tips and tricks for your grill. Join us for this program as we help take the stress out of figuring out what’s for dinner! June 22, 1900-2030. The cost is $30 for ingredients and supplies. Mature Women's Group
Join us for fun and conversation. If you’re a 45+ woman – military member, spouse, or parent of a member - this is a great way to meet others while sharing your wisdom and experience about navigating life’s journey. If you have a loved one preparing to deploy, is currently deployed, or has recently returned from a deployment, join us in this new Zoom version of our famous Deployment Dinners. We provide a fun and safe space to connect and share a good time with other families experiencing the various stages of deployments. Order your favourite take-out or delivery. After the program, send Ana a picture of your receipt. Attendees will receive a set reimbursement for their meals - up to $20 per adult/teenager and $10 per child (11 and under) for food costs upon attendance. Wednesday, June 30, 1800 – 1900.
