PSP Learn to Skate Program

The PSP Figure Skating Program is a recreational skating program that provides different levels of programming from learning to skate up to the StarSkate program, which falls under the sanction of Skate Canada. The aim of the program is to teach kids to skate in all stages of disciplines and to have fun!

Learn to Skate: Beginner
A fun introduction to skating for pre-schoolers. Coached by professional coaches and program assistants. Skaters will learn how to stand up, move around on the ice, as well as how to stop and start.

A CSA approved helmet and gloves or mittens are required at all times when skating.  Note: Due to insurance purposes, parents are not permitted on the ice surface.

Learn to Skate: 2
A recreational learn-to-skate program designed to introduce or reinforce such skating techniques. Participants learn the fundamental skating skills such as balance, stops & starts, skating backwards, crossovers, pivoting, power and speed. A CSA approved helmet and gloves or mittens are required at all times when skating.

Learn to Skate: 3
A new level within in our Learn to Skate Program designed to help participants continue to master their skating skills under the guidance of qualfied coaches. A CSA approved helmet and gloves or mittens are required at all times.

StarSkate
The Skate Canada STARSkate Program offers opportunities for skaters to develop basic figure skating skills in four different areas with the option of taking Skate Canada tests. Proper skating attire and figure skates are to be worn by STARSkaters.

A Skate Canada registration fee of $30 will be added onto the cost of registration one time per year unless you have already registered withSkate Canada for the 2017/2018 season.
