Did you know? To meet the demands of families, the MFRC – Montreal Region has recruited a second special care counsellor for parenting support.

She will works with the families to facilitate their daily life:

• To offer a firm and caring discipline
• To equip the parent according to various needs of the child: emotional management, temper tantrum, anxiety, etc.
• To support the parent during intervention with the child
• To establish an effective and consistent routine
• To refer parents of children with special needs to appropriate resources

SeparatioN and reunion

Gift boxes for military families deployed during the holidays.
Will a military member of your family be deployed overseas during the holiday season? To demonstrate its appreciation to military families, the "Together We Stand" Foundation is reiterating its operation of Gift Boxes distributed to families whose members will be absent between December 1, 2019 and January 31, 2020.
These boxes include gift cards and coupons from companies such as Adidas, Reebok, Brass & Unity, Fabricland and Yogen Früz, as well as a prepaid Visa card, valued at around $ 300.
This "Standing Together" operation is done in close partnership with the official CAF charity, Support Our Troops. In 2018, 2,550 gift boxes for military families were distributed.
Eligibility criteria:
Members deployed at any time between 1 December 2019 and 30 January 2020 in operational theatre outside of North America, separated from their family during the holiday season and not on training are eligible to complete the gift form.
Only one gift box is offered per deployed CAF member.
Registration method:
To verify your eligibility and apply for a package for your family, complete the online form at the address below before November, 8th: (click on «next», at the bottom of the blue frame)
The CAF member or a member of the family/household can submit the form.
Supporting documents: The Canadian Forces Task Plan and Operations (CFTPO) Task Authority will need to be attached by the person completing the form to provide proof of deployment and member verification.

October parents-and-tots activities
The periods are for children 5 years and under, accompanied by their parents. Registration by When registering, mention your child's full name, age, and a phone number to reach you.
October 9, 2019: come with us to pick pumpkins in the Verger de la Savane (8000 Ch de la Savane, Saint-Hubert, QC, J3Y 8Y9). We will wait you directly on site at 10 am. Expect cash if you want to buy pumpkins or others. Looking forward to seeing you there with your little ones.
October 31, 2019: Halloween trick-or-treat. Join us at the Megaplex in the Saint-Jean Garrison at 10am. The children will have to be costumed and have a bag to collect the candies. The children enrolled that morning at the Saint-Jean daycare center will also participate with the educators. If you have any questions about the course of the activity contact the Childhood Coordinator.
Drop-in Day-care service
Check the availability of services during the week of October 14, 2019. The educators will participate in the conference of the association of community day care centers in Quebec. During this conference, the educators will follow trainings such as "communication tools for fathers" offered by the grouping of the valorization of paternity, "routine and transition", "sign language for baby", "Lantern Program", "A layout that promotes mobility at the daycare" and conferences. For this reason, day care services will be reduced.

Youth Outing : Clip’n Climb in Laval
This month teenagers from 11 to 17 years old are invited to participate in the Youth Outing that will take place at Clip'n Climb, in Laval. It’s an impressive activity with climbing walls of different levels of difficulty. A relaxed and unforgettable activity! Transportation is not included.
