The Portfolio Development Program is brought to you by BMO, the Official Bank of the Canadian Defence Community. With funds raised through the BMO Support Our Troops Mastercard Program, online career and entrepreneurship training is made available to military spouses.
What is the Portfolio Development Program?
Military Family Services has collaborated with the Trenton MFRC to offer their award-winning Portfolio Development Program. The Program is free and available online across Canada to military and veteran spouses. If space is available, other military community members may be accepted to participate.
The Portfolio Development Program is great for job seekers, entrepreneurs, students and anyone who’s looking for their next great career adventure. It lets you conduct an internal and external audit. The process will help you to highlight your prior learning, skills and talents towards the goal of your choice, whether it is for career, education or entrepreneurial reasons. The program includes six training sessions of two-hours each that occur over a three-week period. Once participants complete all of the six session requirements, they can submit their portfolio for assessment. After passing the assessment review, participants are eligible to receive a joint certificate from Loyalist College and the Trenton MFRC.
How Do I Register?
Military and Veteran spouses can register for the Introductory Session “Portfolio…Is it for you?” and/or the complete Portfolio Development Program at the registration links below. When registering for the complete program, please ensure you are able to attend all six course sessions listed in the program schedule. Registration for individual sessions is not permitted this year.
Please note that due to high demand and limited space, this program is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Military and veteran spouses are given registration priority. We will contact all program registrants to inform them if they have been selected to participate in the program.
